Before using your winch, please read the relevant user guide below. If you haven't used a wheelchair winch before, we would suggest perhaps trying it first with an empty wheelchair, just to gain a bit of experience and confidence in using it. If you have any questions or concerns at all about using a winch, please contact us. We are always happy to give any help or advice - ask away!
ATOM 250 QUICK-RELEASE MOUNTING PLATE USER QUIDE
Our new quick-release mounting bracket is supplied as standard, as part of our wheelchair winch kit. The real benefit of this bracket is you don't need any tools at all to remove (or re-fit) the winch from the vehicle floor! It also allows the winch device to pivot in line with the pull of the wheelchair. This prevents any potential distortion damage to the winch body and eliminates ride-up of webbing onto the reel.
The following steps below show you how to use it.........
Things do go wrong from time to time so here is a little checklist of things for to you to inspect, should your winch stop working.....
Unresponsive remote control
check/replace the fuse
(small remote 12 27A large remote 12v 23A)
Unresponsive winch
check/replace the fuse
Winch trips out unexpectedly
check the safe working load has not been exceeded
check the incline of the ramp
check for any obstructions on the path of the wheelchair
Please always adhere to the safe working practices listed in our user guide (supplied with all of our winch kits and available upon request) and contact us if you are unsure about anything at all.
We have devised the graphs below to help you see, at a glance, how the incline of the vehicle ramp affects the safe working load of our wheelchair winches. If you are not sure what degree your ramp is, please contact us and we can help you determine this.
